The Mempool is a “waiting area” for Bitcoin transactions that each full node maintains for itself. After a transaction is verified by a node, it waits inside the Mempool until it’s picked up by a Bitcoin miner and inserted into a block.

The Bitcoin mempool (short for "memory pool") is a temporary holding area where unconfirmed Bitcoin transactions wait before they are included in a block on the Bitcoin blockchain. When a user sends a Bitcoin transaction, it is broadcast to the network and initially placed in the mempool of nodes (computers) running the Bitcoin software.
